But they say, 'That is in vain! We will follow our own plans, and will every one act according to the stubbornness of his evil heart.'
Jeremiah 18:12
"willful"
"stubborn"
"evil"
...not the words I'd want God to use to describe me.
But those were the words God ascribed to the hearts of His people
when they chose to reject Him,
and they were opposed to Him,
when they fought against Him.
If I'm willful,
stubborn,
evil
I will refuse to heed the truth
God's Word has made clear.
And I will replace it with my opinion
which is the root of my sinning.
How could I reject Him,
be opposed to Him,
fight against Him?
